North Dakota State Quilt Council Documentation |

|
The documentation committee records quilts constructed before 1960. The quilts may have originated anywhere in the world but are currently located in North Dakota; or any quilt that originated in North Dakota regardless of current location. The committee will carefully hang the quilt upright and photograph it, and take a closeup of a block. Three pages of detailed information are collected about the quilt, the maker (if known), and the current owner. The committee can assist with determining the age of the quilt, based on the pattern, construction technique, and fabrics/materials used to make the quilt. Copies of the documentation and a fabric label acknowledging the documentation will be given to the owner. If you or someone you know has an antique or historical quilt and would like it documented, please contact Deb Forsberg, Documentation Committee Chair, at 701-258-0675 or Deb_For@msn.com . Quilts are documented by appointment only.
